The Beginning

My love affair with photography began when my youngest son was born. After taking a couple of photography courses in Brighton, I couldn’t put my camera down. I started capturing his everyday moments, and from there, Bee Focused Photography blossomed. Creativity has always been my thing—I’ve been an art lead in nearly every school I’ve taught in, and I’m all about bringing that creative spark to my photography.

My Background

I’m a mum to two incredible neurodivergent boys and a qualified primary school teacher with over a decade of experience. My teaching career has taken me through various settings and age groups, from reception to year six, including a special support centre for children with speech and language difficulties. Trust me, I’ve seen it all! So, when it comes to your kids’ antics on a photoshoot, nothing fazes me.

My Unique Approach

What sets me apart as a photographer is the blend of being a mum and a teacher. With two boys who face their own challenges, I know the power of play. My sessions are all about fun and following the kids’ lead. Forget stiff poses—we’ll play games like Mr Wolf, hide and seek, and traffic lights, capturing those genuine moments of joy and connection. My ideal shoot? Your family playing together, acting like I’m not even there. My style is documentary and lifestyle, focusing on capturing the essence of your family. Many people feel a bit awkward in front of the camera, so my job is to help you relax and enjoy the moment. I join in, play, and make the session as fun as possible.
