If you’re looking for branding photography in West Sussex that feels authentic, relaxed and genuinely you, my Reveal My Story session might be just what you need. These sessions are designed to capture the real story behind your business: the people, the process and the personality that make your brand shine.
I was so excited when the wonderful Kirsty from Make Do and Trend booked a Reveal My Story branding photography session. In my eyes, this is the ultimate personal branding session and exactly what I would want to capture for my own business.
The idea of this extended shoot is to tell the full story of your brand, not just the polished hero moments but the behind the scenes, the real work and the small details that make you, you.
People don’t just want to see your finished product or service. They want to see you in action, your process, your space and your personality. That’s what builds trust and connection, and ultimately makes your business stand out from the crowd.
If I were to have this session myself, it would include everything from office admin and editing shots, to me out scouting locations, prepping my gear and photographing families and businesses. The whole story. The Reveal My Story session is designed exactly for that: a relaxed, well planned half day that captures the heart of your business and everything that goes into it.
For Kirsty, this looked a little different. She has so many wonderful strands to her creative business that she wanted to focus on capturing her craft classes and workshops rather than the behind the scenes admin. Step one was working out which classes to photograph and when.
Because she works with children, it was really important that the sessions we photographed were volunteer classes with full permission from parents for the images to be shared. We planned these shoots carefully, choosing a bright, airy community hall in Pease Pottage as the perfect backdrop for her children’s craft workshops and Mini Crafters sessions.
For her adult craft workshops and personal branding portraits, we moved to her beautiful cabin studio at the end of her garden; her peaceful, creative space where she teaches, prepares and crafts. The natural light there was a little trickier to work with, but capturing Kirsty in her own space mattered far more.
Before the sessions, we worked together on a mood board to capture her vision and aesthetic. This gave us a shared sense of direction and plenty of creative ideas to play with on the day.
After four hours of photography (and hundreds of photos later), Kirsty now has an incredible bank of personal branding images that truly tell the story of her business. She can now use these photos across her social media, website and marketing materials to show who she is and what she does best.
Kirsty worked with Copper Moth Design to create her beautiful new flyers and will be relaunching her website in January! We can’t wait to see Kirsty! In the meantime, go and give her a follow on socials and check out the wide range of workshops she offers for both adults and children alike.
If you’d love to update your own visuals and show the heart behind your business, I’d love to hear from you.
