Mooi Hair Artistry is the welcoming, soulful space created by Candis, a hairdresser based in Broadbridge Heath. Inspired by her South African roots and a love of natural beauty, Mooi is a small business built around calm, care and connection. Candis began her hairdressing journey at 28, discovering a creative path that allowed her patience and passion to sit side by side.

A Small Business Built with Intention

After Covid, Candis felt ready to step into something bigger. After five years of manifesting, Mooi became a reality, found with the help of her mum and supported by family, friends and clients. The studio itself is beautifully designed, warm and inviting, with every detail carefully considered. From blankets and hot water bottles to glass teacups, chocolates and the soft scent of candles, the space feels comforting and unhurried.

What It Felt Like to Photograph Mooi

I’ll admit, I felt a little nervous before photographing Mooi. I worried the space might feel small or dark, but instead I walked into something truly special. Photographing Candis felt like being welcomed into someone’s home. She is calm, open and deeply reassuring, and that feeling runs through the entire studio. It was a pleasure to quietly capture a small business that feels so genuinely caring and thoughtfully made.
