I recently visited Pulborough to photograph Liv, the wonderful founder of The Family Nook, to capture the inviting essence of her beautiful business. The Family Nook is a family play café and holistic wellbeing hub founded by Liv, a former GP with more than 15 years of valuable experience working as a medical doctor. Together with her supportive husband and their two young daughters, she has successfully created a beautiful space explicitly designed to support local families through every unique stage of family life.

A Welcoming Community Space Created for Modern Families

The original idea for creating The Family Nook was deeply inspired by Liv’s own family dynamics and a strong desire to build somewhere that feels genuinely welcoming, supportive, and community-focused. Alongside the daily café run, The Family Nook is beginning to expand its offering with specialized workshops and events designed to support parents. Their newly launched antenatal course is just the beginning of this journey, with weaning workshops and other parent-focused wellbeing events already in active development. What It Felt Like to Photograph The Family Nook

Photographing Liv and her young family felt like being warmly welcomed directly into their world. They are such warm, generous, and genuinely caring people, and that exact feeling runs completely through everything they have created in Pulborough. It was an absolute joy to capture a local business that is so clearly built around human connection, mutual support, and community spirit.
